Principled leaders are suffering. To survive, they have to balance on the razor's edge of corporate life. They're values often diametrically opposed. Coaching client and industry leader “Denise” felt the burn. She had to exceed unrealistic expectations, while, at the same time, shield direct reports from the fire drills, whims, hissy fits, and deceit of upper management. Questions Denise explored during coaching: What do I love to do? What am I here to contribute? What am I good at? What’s my purpose?

Realizations and Actions Taken:

  • Created community through a women’s leadership consortium

  • Honored her contributions as a leader, ability to prioritize opportunities, nurture partnerships, and expand into new markets with agility and EQ

  • Faced reality that her boss’s behavior wasn’t changing, so she put the story aside, dealt with business at hand, and protected her team

  • Looked for a “softer place” to land, reached out to headhunters, and made career moves

  • Uncovered her higher purpose – to make lives better

  • Realized her super powers are building relationships and developing intentional leaders

  • Founded her own company to do just that
